Thunder vs. Kings: Live updates, highlights for Tuesday’s game

The Oklahoma City Thunder will host the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday. This is the first of a three-game homestand for OKC. It’s also the second night of a road-and-home back-to-back. This will be the first matchup of the season between the two squads.
The Thunder (4-0) almost had a letdown in their 101-94 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Monday. They had a 22-point lead that was almost erased. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a forgettable 23 points and eight rebounds. Chet Holmgren finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, the Kings (1-2) were on the wrong side of a historic performance. They dropped a 127-120 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday. In it, Austin Reaves went off for a jaw-dropping 51 points. He went 21-of-22 on free throws. Zach LaVine had 32 points in the defeat.

Another likely close finish for the Thunder. It’ll be interesting to see how much Gilgeous-Alexander plays in the fourth quarter. Expect Wiggins and Mitchell to be asked to carry the offensive load in the meantime. Meanwhile, the Kings continue to shoot the ball well and keep their distance on the scoreboard.
Schroder with the mid-range jumper. Thunder call a timeout. Kings respond after OKC briefly retook the lead. Nobody outside of Gilgeous-Alexander and Wiggins can really create offense.
The outside shot has given the Kings the lead for most of the first half. They’re 6-of-14 from deep. Meanwhile, the Thunder have kept up in scoring, too. But the defense is obviously not the same with so many absences. Let’s see if they can play better in the second half.
The outside shooting woes continue for the Thunder. That’s happened this entire season. Truly testing the limits of how much Gilgeous-Alexander can carry the offense. Meanwhile, the Kings have cooked on their jumpers. Both from the outside and in the mid-range.
A slow start for the Thunder. The defense hasn’t been sharp as the Kings generate quality looks from the outside. Gilgeous-Alexander had a quiet opening frame. But turnovers have stopped any chance of a run.
Westbrook with the pull-up 3-pointer. He already has three outside makes. Good game plan to dare him to beat you from the outside, but it hasn’t worked yet.
The Thunder will start Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Cason Wallace, Lu Dort, Aaron Wiggins and Isaiah Hartenstein. The Kings will start Russell Westbrook, Dennis Schroder, Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan and Domantas Sabonis.
