AFL star turned tech millionaire Brad Moran lists Gold Coast mega-mansion

AFL player turned tech entrepreneur has listed The Estate at 160 Tallai Rd, Tallai
A former AFL player who struck tech gold poured part of his $205 million fortune into building one of Queensland’s most extravagant estates, complete with a private theme park, whiskey bar and gold-tiled infinity pool.
Brad Moran, who played for North Melbourne and Adelaide before launching retail-media venture CitrusAd, bought the Tallai property for $7m in 2021 after selling his company to French advertising giant Publicis Groupe that same year.

Mr Moran and wife Alicia, both 39, spent four years transforming the already-flashy estate into a high-tech mountain compound with 10 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, now listed for auction on November 28 with Kollosche agents, Michael Kollosche and Jamie Harrison.
Dubbed The Estate, the 8888 sqm site at 160 Tallai Rd sits high above the Gold Coast Hinterland with 16km of uninterrupted coastline views.
The 2240 sqm main residence is joined by three self-contained guest houses, a 13-car gallery, golf-buggy network and 110m go-kart track.
There’s also a golf driving range, basketball court and an entire wellness wing.
The property is billed as one of the state’s most extravagant private estates

Mr Moran said the project quickly tipped over into obsession, stating he spent “65 hours a week, every week for three years” on the development.
A father of three children aged 2 to 13, Mr Moran retired from AFL at 24 after a short playing career, partly due to injury but also the drive to chase new goals.
“When I first bought the property, it had scale but lacked cohesion and elements that I would consider modern-day ultra-luxury,” he said.
“I wanted to push every boundary of what was possible.
“The ambition was to make the property world class from an engineering point of view, but then also to make it aesthetically beautiful at the same time.”

Beyond the 10-metre glass façade, facial-recognition entry and a 24-carat-gold-infused water feature open to a line-up of extravagant features, including a Manhattan-style whiskey bar, 16-seat cinema, poker room, gym, yoga studio, steam room and dual hydrotherapy pools.
The 200 sqm master suite has 6m-high ceilings with a retractable starlight roof and an ensuite tiled with 65,000 hand-laid Bisazza mosaics.
Outside, the 18m heated infinity pool finished in black and gold overlooks the city.

Mr Kollosche said the estate, located 15 minutes from Broadbeach and 25 minutes from Gold Coast Airport, “stands among the most significant private homes ever offered to the Queensland market”.
