Alan Carr has spoken about his friendship with singer Paloma Faith since he betrayed her trust in the latest series of The Celebrity Traitors. The comedian is currently a Traitor in the BBC series and committed the “murder” in broad daylight by touching Paloma’s face and sealing her fate on the game show.
After leaving the show Paloma was honest about her feelings towards Alan. She said on aftershow The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked that she was surprised the comedian backstabbed her on the show, saying that if she had been in his position, she would not have sent him home.
The decision of Alan to “murder” Paloma came after the close bond between the two was revealed in the BBC show’s first episode. They had arrived at the Scottish castle as friends. After the betrayal, Paloma said: “If the shoe was on the other foot, I would not have touched Alan’s face. Categorically, he had a choice – maybe it was the easiest option, but it was the choice he made and I don’t think it was very nice.”
Speaking on his Life’s A Beach podcast recently, Alan said: “I’m killing people. I’ve killed Paloma Faith. Tom Daley, I can’t stop killing.” Alan’s podcast co-host, DJ Norman Cook, asked: “Aren’t you mates with Paloma?”
The comedy star replied: “Well I was…I’ll tell you. I’ve killed Paloma Faith she’s not happy about it.” Alan then addressed Paloma’s recent responses to the situation on TV and TikTok.
He said: “There’s been a few, let’s just say little TikTok-y things where she says I’ve let her down because I killed her in plain sight. I was desperate and she went, ‘if you were a real friend you wouldn’t have killed me’ but I said I’m the traitor. The show’s called The Traitors.”
Paloma was the first Faithful murdered by the Traitors. Asked about her experience on the show, the singer previously told the BBC: “It was up and down.

“I found it quite nerve-racking because, because I knew when I went in that I have a huge personality and that I’d be very visible. I knew that I couldn’t fade into the background. I’m the sort of person that lets my feelings about people be known by talking a lot, so it was never an option for me to be able to quietly just simmer under the surface.
“I felt like my Spidey senses kicked off very early on. I was potentially, in hindsight, oversharing a lot of stuff. I don’t think my technique was great in this game, but it works very well in real life.”
This month, The Upside Down singer announced she is pregnant with her third child. She already shares two daughters with her ex-partner, French artist Leyman Lahcine.
The 44-year-old posted photos showing her pregnancy belly to Instagram on Friday and said: “Plot twist, mother is mothering (again).” She was also congratulated by Claudia Winkleman, host of The Celebrity Traitors and many other stars.
