VPS announces two non-stop flights to major U.S. cities

DESTIN, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport announced Thursday morning that it’s expanding flights to two major cities.
VPS held a press conference, revealing that JetBlue will be coming to the Panhandle to offer daily non-stop flights to and from Boston and New York City beginning March 5, 2026.
“We’ve been collaborating with JetBlue for many, many years. We knew they were going to end up somewhere in the panhandle, and it just so happened they selected VPS for specific reasons, obviously, and we’re ecstatic about having them join the family here,” said the Okaloosa County Airports Director Tracy Stage.
Flights will be through the Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). The airline will operate 5 weekly flights to JFK and Boston on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Airport officials also say this partnership will bring 20 to 25 new jobs to the area.
“Today marks another exciting chapter in our airport’s growth story and in the future of air travel for all of Northwest Florida. After numerous years of collaboration, we are honored that JetBlue recognizes this momentum and chose to invest in Okaloosa County and our region,” said Stage.
