There are reports that if the AQI in Delhi-NCR remains in the severe category, schools may be closed to reduce students’ exposure to the polluted air. In some areas, the air quality has already reached the ‘severe’ level, causing serious breathing problems. Breathing air in places with a ‘very poor’ AQI is equivalent to smoking 6 to 10 cigarettes a day, while in areas with a ‘severe’ AQI, it is like smoking 16 to 20 cigarettes daily.
Most schools in Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad have suspended outdoor activities due to these health risks. Reports also indicate that school assemblies have been cancelled to limit students’ exposure to toxic air, and air purifiers have been installed across school premises. Parents and students are advised to keep track of school’s official website and WhatsApp group.
Will Schools Be Closed in Poll-Bound Bihar?
School holiday tomorrow, November 11: Bihar will go to the polls on November 11, with voting scheduled for 122 assembly seats across 20 districts. The districts voting in this phase include East Champaran, West Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, Nawada, Gaya, Aurangabad, Jehanabad, Arwal, Kaimur, and Rohtas. To ensure smooth voting, the Bihar government has directed that all government and private schools in the districts holding elections on November 11 will remain closed for the day.

According to the official order, all schools, colleges, and government offices within the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency limits will remain closed on the polling day.

The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced that November 11, 2025 (Tuesday) will be observed as a holiday in connection with the bye-elections to Assembly Constituencies 27-Budgam and 77-Nagrota. The schools in the district will also remain closed on Tuesday.

Shaheedi Diwas on November 24 honours Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Sikh Guru, who gave his life to protect religious freedom. The day is marked with prayers, kirtan singing, and remembrance ceremonies in Gurudwaras.
