Richmond’s 2026 AFL fixture revealed

Richmond will play 16 games in Melbourne during the 2026 AFL Home and Away season.

Richmond’s 2026 AFL fixture is highlighted by 16 matches in Melbourne and home Anzac Day Eve and Dreamtime at the ‘G blockbusters.

The Club will again kick off its season with a Thursday night clash against Carlton at the MCG, with a bumper crowd a certainty.

Richmond stunned Carlton and lit up the AFL world with a thrilling come-from-behind victory against the Blues last season, with the 2026 Round 1 clash the two teams’ first meeting since that memorable night.

The Tigers then host Gold Coast at the MCG on a Saturday afternoon in Round 2.

Richmond’s opening two clashes are the first of the Club’s 16 games in Melbourne, which will include 10 MCG home games and a replacement match, that will be finalised and communicated to members in due course.

The Tigers will host Port Adelaide in Round 4 on a Saturday twilight, with the next home match the Anzac Day Eve clash against Melbourne on a Friday night.

Richmond travel to Perth in Round 3 and 8 to face Fremantle and West Coast and have a Sunday afternoon home match against the Crows in Round 9.

Dreamtime at the ‘G will return to a Friday night slot for a second time, with the Tigers hosting Essendon in Round 11.

Richmond then returns to the SCG to face Sydney in Round 12.

The Club’s home Tasmanian fixture has been slated for Round 14 on Sunday, June 14, against Brisbane at 1.10pm. Victorian-based supporters planning to attend the game are encouraged to book their travel plans early.

Richmond will then host North Melbourne the following Sunday at the MCG at 1.10pm in Round 15.

The timeslots of the final nine matches will be confirmed later in the year, with eight of those nine matches in Victoria.

Richmond’s home games in that period will be against Carlton, Hawthorn, West Coast and St Kilda.

The teams Richmond plays twice in season 2026 are North Melbourne, West Coast, St Kilda, Melbourne, Carlton and Adelaide.

Richmond CEO Shane Dunne said the fixture was family-friendly and highly accessible for the Tiger Army.

“We are thrilled to be playing 16 games in Melbourne this year and will be pushing for big crowds at our home games right across the season,” he said.

“The Tiger Army will be able to give us a distinct advantage in our first two home games against Gold Coast and Port Adelaide in family-friendly Saturday afternoon timeslots, and we want that momentum to continue throughout the year.

“We are really excited about our home Anzac Day Eve and Dreamtime at the ‘G fixtures against Melbourne and Essendon. These are always special nights for our Club and will be huge occasions under Friday night lights this year.

“Excitingly, after our Round 13 bye, we then travel to Hobart for our home game in Tasmania, which is followed by nine of our last 10 matches being in Victoria.

“The best way to attend these games and support our Club is to buy a membership, so I encourage all our fans to join the journey for next year.”
