Nearly 1 million Australians will see AC/DC and Metallica as the giants of hard rock and heavy metal tour the country this month, helping the record stores devoted to the genre defy predictions of their demise.
At Heartland Records in Melbourne, where AC/DC played Melbourne Cricket Ground on Wednesday night after Metallica had sold out Marvel Stadium the Friday prior, sales were up 20 per cent on a normal week, store manager Alexandra Lehman said.
