Following a 22-19 win over the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this week, Denver Broncos cornerback Jahdae Barron took to Instagram to troll a tight end and his significant other.
Barron posted a picture on his Instagram story showing tight end Travis Kelce failing to catch a pass with the rookie cornerback covering him. Barron’s caption: “Tell swift put me on a song RIGHT NOW.”
Kelce, of course, is engaged to music superstar Taylor Swift.
Kelce is a three-time Super Bowl champion with ten Pro Bowl selections and seven All-Pro nods on his resume, but Barron got the best of his opponent on Sunday.
After his post created an uproar among Swifties, Barron tweeted this follow-up message:
The rookie cornerback allowed two catches for 14 yards in coverage against Kelce. (When not matched up with Barron, Kelce hauled in seven receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown.)
Barron was picked by the Broncos in the first round of this year’s NFL draft out of Texas. He has totaled three pass breakups, one forced fumble and one interception through his first 11 games (he also had a pick-six against the Chiefs that was nullified by a controversial penalty).
Denver is set to travel to Kansas City for a rematch with the Chiefs in a Thursday Night Football Christmas Day showdown in Week 17.
