They were intercepted in mid-morning from the staff of the State Police Station – Exhibition, engaged in checks in the green area near the EUR lake, eight activists from the environmental movement Extinction RebellionWhat aroused suspicion was the steady arrival of the first members of the group, clearly waiting for further associates who arrived on the scene shortly after, equipped with backpacks which, following the check by the officers, they brought to light the aforementioned people’s intention to carry out a raid, most likely through the display of a banner e the spillage of colored water tracer into the water basin.
The banner, bearing the inscription “let’s stop the ecocide”, was accompanied by flyers in support of the Palestinian cause e against the energy giant Eni. The eight activists, fully identified, were accompanied to the offices of the competent Police Station for further investigation.
During the checks it emerged that A search was pending against one of the members of the group for the notification of a police order.
