Call of Duty dev Sledgehammer Games looking to hire team members with Switch experience

You might remember that back when Microsoft was lobbying hard to scoop up Activision, they made a pledge to bring the Call of Duty franchise to Nintendo platforms, and those outings would be day-and-date with the other versions, and even offer parity in terms of content. Once Microsoft signed the dotted line to bring Activision under their umbrella, they’ve been radio silent on Call of Duty for Nintendo fans. This has led to considerable frustration from Nintendo faithful, but it appears we finally have some movement on the matter behind the scenes.
Sledgehammer Games is one of the main teams under Activision Blizzard that brings the Call of Duty franchise to life. While Sledgehammer Games wasn’t the lead on the latest entry in the franchise, Black Ops 7, they did provide support during development. With that game finally out the door, it appears that Sledgehammer Games is now shifting focus over to the Nintendo side of things.
Sledgehammer Games has posted a job listing for for a Senior Technical Artist, and there’s one tidbit that’s of particular note to those interested in Nintendo. The job listing specifically states that it’s looking for a developer that has “Switch experience,” but unfortunately no other details are shared.
We know for a fact that Call of Duty is going to make its way to Nintendo hardware, but whether that means Switch, Switch 2 or both remains to be seen. With that said, it’s nice to finally see some evidence that work on Call of Duty for Nintendo hardware is underway, and hopefully Microsoft gives a much clearer picture in the near future.
