Crystal Palace vs Manchester United preview
In years gone by, Crystal Palace would have been hoping to capitalise on Manchester United’s European hangover but the balance of power has shifted.
While FA Cup winners Palace are enjoying their first European campaign, United must make do with trips to Grimsby and Brentford rather than Galatasaray and Barcelona.
Even so, Ruben Amorim’s men are struggling on their travels and their only away win in the league came at troubled Liverpool.
They were outplayed in a 2-2 draw at Nottingham Forest and needed a late equaliser at struggling Tottenham before Monday’s 1-0 home defeat to Everton, who had Idrissa Gueye sent off in the 13th minute.
Palace lost 2-1 at Strasbourg in the Conference League on Thursday but they are rock-solid at home and have won three of their last four matches against United without conceding.
Eagles boss Oliver Glasner has had far more success with his 3-4-2-1 formation than Amorim has at United and the hosts should be backed to win a game featuring under 3.5 goals.
Palace defence can keep Mbeumo quiet
Injuries to Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha gave Joshua Zirkzee a chance to lead the line for United against Everton but his underwhelming display means Bryan Mbeumo could play as a centre-forward on Sunday.
Mbeumo scored in both of Brentford’s games against Palace last season but United’s ponderous midfield may struggle to create chances for the Cameroon international.
Selhurst clash could be a walk in the park for officials
Palace have received only four yellow cards in their last five home league games, including a 2-1 win over Liverpool and a goalless draw with rivals Brighton.
Take a chance on under 1.5 cards being brandished. United have picked up only seven bookings in six away games and there were no cards shown in their 3-0 derby defeat at Manchester City in September.

Crystal Palace to win
Manchester United’s home defeat to ten-man Everton was a huge blow to morale and they are unlikely to improve their poor away record this weekend.
Yeremy Pino to have two or more shots
The sparky Palace winger scored his first Premier League goal at Wolves last weekend and averages one shot every 40 minutes at Selhurst Park in the league.
Under 3.5 cards
United are one of the best behaved teams in the division and Palace have picked up only seven cards in six home league matches this term.
