GLENN SIGNS WITH HEAT | English Spinner Joins Up

English leg spinner Sarah Glenn will boost the WBBL Brisbane Heat for its final two regular season matches this week.
Glenn, who played with the Heat as an International Replacement Player in WBBL|09, has been approved by the WBBL Technical Committee to replace South African all-rounder Nadine de Klerk.
The Heat’s leading all-rounder played her last game yesterday in the final over loss to the Adelaide Strikers and will link with World Cup runners up South Africa for their T20I home series against Ireland.
She is the Heat’s leading runs-scorer in the competition with 158 runs at 147.66 as well as taking five wickets.
Glenn, 26, played in England’s ICC Women’s World Cup campaign in November, and has now represented her country in 19 One Day Internationals and 79 T20 Internationals.
She has taken 39 wickets in the Women’s Hundred in England, including with the championship 2024 London Spirit team.
She will be the club’s fourth international signing for the season and join West Indian all-rounder Chinelle Henry and English batter Lauren Winfield-Hill for Wednesday’s clash with the Sydney Thunder at Drummoyne Oval.
Glenn will also play against the Perth Scorchers on Saturday at the WACA.
The Heat will assess the fitness today of pace bowler Nic Hancock (hamstring) after she suffered a lower grade hamstring injury while batting at North Sydney Oval yesterday.
Hancock took the field for the bowling innings but came off after a handful of overs.
Allrounder Grace Harris is set to miss the rest of the competition, needing three stitches in her hand after splitting the webbing between thumb and forefinger on her left-hand while fielding.
Despite the injury, she claimed 2-28 from her four overs and took two catches, one a fine diving effort in the outfield off Lucy Hamilton.
