Georgia football CFP rankings reveal. Where Bulldogs are in new bracket

Georgia football will head to the SEC Championship game Saturday as the No. 3 team in the College Football Playoff rankings.
The Bulldogs, as expected, moved up a spot after their 16-9 over Georgia Tech Friday and Texas A&M’s 27-17 loss to Texas on Saturday.
The 11-1 Bulldogs will get a first-round playoff bye with a win and could fall to playing a first-round game, likely at home, if it loses in Mercedes-Benz Stadium to No. 9 Alabama.
“Our guys earned the right to play in it by the way they led and competed in some really, really tough conference games throughout the year,” Georgia coach Kirby Smart said. “Both teams didn’t back their way into this thing. They earned it.”
Georgia has wins over three ranked teams: No. 6 Ole Miss. No. 13 Texas and No. 22 Georgia Tech.

How many teams in College Football Playoff 2025?
The playoff expanded from a four-team to 12-team field in 2024. Unlike last season, the four highest ranked teams will be slotted as the top four seeds regardless of conference. The Big Ten or SEC champion and runner-up could all be in the top four. If any of the five highest ranked conference champions aren’t in the top 12, they will be seeded at the bottom of the bracket.
When next College Football Playoff rankings come out
The final CFP rankings will be revealed during the top 25 rankings show on Sunday Dec. 7, at 12 p.m. on ESPN.
