Brendan Rodgers reaches agreement for surprise move after Celtic exit – Announcement on way

On October 27th, Brendan Rodgers stepped down as Celtic manager to end his second spell at Celtic Park.

Celtic had to wait until earlier this month to appoint Wilfried Nancy as Rodgers’ permanent successor. The new boss is yet to register a win with the Scottish club after three games.

Meanwhile, the former Celtic boss is in line to make a surprise move to Saudi Arabia to join Al-Qadsiah FC. That’s at least what Arabic newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat are reporting.

On Sunday, the Middle East club parted ways with Míchel. The Spaniard had been at the club since October 2023 and managed 78 matches.

According to the newspaper, Rodgers is the candidate to become Míchel’s successor at Al-Qadsiah.

It’s claimed the Saudi side have ‘reached an agreement’ with the ex-Celtic coach. Asharq Al-Awsat makes it clear this is their information and they have found out about Rodgers from their own sources.

The report claims the Al-Qadsiah management are expected to announce the 52-year-old Norther Irishman’s arrival official in the next few days.

Rodgers has so far managed only in the UK and is now in line to make a surprise move to Saudi, following his Celtic exit.

Al-Qadsiah are fifth in the Saudi Pro League table, 10 points behind leaders Al-Nassr.
