Clash Royale: Best Arena 8 Decks

Clash Royale uses an arena system where you progress by climbing through different arenas. You earn trophies by winning matches, and once you collect enough, you move to a new arena. Each new arena also unlocks new cards for you to try and use in your decks.

Arena 8 is where Clash Royale starts getting a bit tougher. By now, you likely have a solid deck from Arena 7, but you’ll be facing players who know what they’re doing and have adjusted their decks for this arena. Because of that, pushing through Arena 8 can feel difficult if you don’t make some changes. That’s why this guide shares some balanced Clash Royale Arena 8 decks to help you earn trophies easily.

Clash Royale: Best Arena 9 Decks

Arena 9 opens the door to some great cards, and the right deck can make all the difference. Here are some of the best Arena 9 decks in Clash Royale.

Arena 8 Cards in Clash Royale

Arena 8 is exciting because you unlock a bunch of powerful new cards. These include Battle Healer, Giant Snowball, Ice Spirit, Giant Skeleton, Vines, Lightning, Freeze, and Ice Golem.

Clash Royale fans also unlock the Cannoneer tower in this arena. It’s not as popular as the Princess tower, but it works really well in certain decks. In addition to that, you get a level 8 chest, which can give you gold, gems, or cards. Now, let’s take a quick look at all the new cards you unlock in Arena 8.

Battle Healer

Battle Healer is a rare card that costs four elixir. She only targets ground units, but her main job is healing. When she attacks, she heals herself and nearby troops (even air units).

Since she doesn’t deal much damage and attacks slowly, she is not meant to lead a push. Instead, players use her as support in big pushes, especially in Elixir Golem and Golem decks.

Giant Snowball

Giant Snowball is a versatile spell that fits into a lot of decks. It knocks enemy troops back and slows them down, which makes defending much easier.

Giant Snowball can fully counter a Goblin Barrel and medium HP troops like Wizard and Musketeer. Many players prefer it over The Log because it works on air units too. It only costs two elixir, so it’s easy to use at any time.

Ice Spirit

Ice Spirit is easily the best spirit in Clash Royale. It only costs one elixir, but it gives a lot of value. When it jumps, it freezes nearby enemies for a short time.

Ice Spirit works best when used with troops like Musketeer or Skeletons. You can pull enemy troops toward it, freeze them, and give your tower and troops enough time to take them out. It can also reset cards like X Bow, Inferno Dragon, and Sparky.

Giant Skeleton

Giant Skeleton costs a whopping six elixir, but it’s a decent card for both offense and defense. Its main threat is the huge bomb it carries. When it dies, the bomb explodes and can kill low to medium-HP troops like Mother Witch or Magic Archer.

Giant Skeleton is great for defense because it attacks enemy troops and its bomb can wipe them out. The only downside is its high elixir cost, so it’s not used as often as other cards.

Vines

When Vines was first announced, everyone thought it would be way too strong, and honestly, it really was. Supercell nerfed it in the next season, but it’s still used in many meta decks. It freezes enemy troops for 2.5 seconds and deals decent damage, enough to eliminate low HP units like Dart Goblin or Firecracker.

Vines only hits three troops at a time. If there are more than three, it targets the ones with the highest HP. A lot of players like to use it during a big push to catch the opponent off guard and get extra value.

Lightning

Lightning works a lot like Vines. It targets the three troops with the highest HP and deals big damage. It’s great against troops like Phoenix, Wizard, Magic Archer, Night Witch, Ice Wizard, and Electro Wizard.

Lightning won’t fully counter shielded troops like Dark Prince or Guards—just their shields.

The best way to use Lightning is when there are at least three troops close together so you can damage or eliminate all of them at once.

Freeze

Freeze is a four-elixir Epic card that freezes all enemy troops and towers in its radius for four seconds. It does a little damage too, enough to kill small troops like Skeletons, Bats, and Spear Goblins. Its freeze lasts longer than Vines, but the damage is lower, which is why many players prefer Vines since it also costs one less elixir.

Ice Golem

Ice Golem is a pretty unique card. When you play it, it moves slowly and targets buildings. It doesn’t do much damage on its own, but it’s great as a shield for your win conditions like Hog Rider or Balloon.

Ice Golem will draw enemy troops and towers, giving your main push time to land hits. When it dies, it does a little damage and slows down enemies for a short time, which can help your push even more.

Skeleton Army

This is a version of the classic Musk Loon deck. The original 2.9 cycle uses Miner, which you don’t have yet, so this is the best Balloon deck for Arena 8. The Balloon is your win condition, so protecting it is key to winning.

If you have evolutions, you can choose Evo Zap and Skeleton Army. If you don’t have Hero Musketeer, you can opt for Evo Musketeer instead of Evo Zap.

You also have strong defense with Musketeer, Tombstone, and Minions. With Hero Musketeer added, this deck is now stronger than ever.

Ice Golem

Average Elixir Cost: 2.6

The Hog 2.6 cycle is one of the most iconic Clash Royale decks. Since you don’t have the Log yet in Arena 8, you can use Zap instead. Because it costs so little elixir, you will be cycling back to your Hog Rider and Musketeer really fast. Just make sure you place your cards smartly. Random placements won’t work.

If you have evolutions, you can choose Evo Musketeer and Ice Spirit.

If you want, you can replace Zap with Vines. It costs a little more, but it often does a better job than Zap and can surprise your opponent at times.

PEKKA Evo Witch Baby Drag

Baby Dragon

Battle Ram

Electro Spirit

Average Elixir Cost: 3.5

This is one of the few really good PEKKA decks for Arena 8. Your win condition is the Battle Ram, which can also help on defense if needed.

If you have evolutions, you can choose Evo Baby Dragon and Witch.

Even though it has some expensive cards like PEKKA and Witch, the average elixir cost stays low at 3.5 thanks to cheap cards like Electro Spirit, Zap, and Skeletons. But, keep in mind that if you don’t have Evo Witch and Evo Baby Dragon, this deck won’t be as strong.
