A well-known prankster has infiltrated Hill Dickinson Stadium and caused a stir at Everton’s new home.
‘Jarvo 69’ a prankster who has caused all sorts of havoc in British sport, managed to sneak onto the pitch before England and Australia’s rugby league match. He lined up alongside the Australian team ahead of their national anthem having given stewards and security the slip.
Stadium organisers are not the first and will surely not be the last to be bamboozled by the internet joker. Nevertheless, this has not spared the security team at Hill Dickinson Stadium from criticism and ridicule on social media.
“That is a true embarrassment,” one fan posted on X. Another added: “Well known pitch invader Jarvo has managed to get into the pitch, stand with the Aussies, sing the national anthem while getting on TV.”
England are taking on Australia in the second of three matches for the revival of rugby league’s Ashes. It’s the first series of its kind since the Kangaroos won 3-0 on English soil in 2003.
Last weekend, the nations met at Wembley. Australia dominated to a 26-6 victory before the action shifted to Merseyside, reports the Mirror. They’ll also face off at Leeds Rhinos’ Headingley Stadium next Saturday, 8 November.
‘Jarvo 69’ is the pseudonym of Daniel Jarvis, who supporters may remember was behind several other high-profile sporting stunts. In September 2024, he attempted to line up with the England football team ahead of their Nations League fixture against the Republic of Ireland in Dublin.

The prankster famously disrupted Sky Sports’ transfer deadline day coverage with a sex toy and infiltrated the closing ceremony at the Paris Olympic Games, disguised as a member of Team GB. Jarvis infamously broadcast a series of sexual sounds during the BBC’s live broadcast of an FA Cup fixture featuring Liverpool and Wolves, and similarly disrupted the Euro 2024 draw.
His behaviour during a Test cricket match between England and India at the Oval in 2022 resulted in him being found guilty of aggravated trespass. Jarvis invaded the pitch dressed in Indian whites and made contact with England player Jonny Bairstow, subsequently receiving a suspended sentence.
District Judge Daniel Benjamin said: “Players and sporting officials do not know whether a person crossing the boundary is intent on doing them physical harm.

“Even if the person is not intent on doing physical harm, as your own conduct shows it is possible for physical contact to be made with a player inadvertently, risking such harm. As with any other member of the public, players and officials deserve to feel safe within their workplace.
“Contrary to your attempts to do otherwise with your YouTube videos, the message needs to go out that wrongly entering the arena at a sporting fixture is not a silly matter. It is so wide of the mark of acceptable behaviour that it will be met with severe sanction by the courts.”
