Next week, Patti Smith will kick off a North American tour celebrating the 50th anniversary of her seminal album, Horses. She also just published her latest memoir, Bread of Angels. On Thursday night, Smith appeared on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where she looked back on Horses, discussed Bread of Angels, her childhood, and more.
Smith also stepped onto the stage to perform “Peaceable Kingdom” from her 2004 album Trampin’ with the accompaniment of Tony Shanahan.

In 2022, Consequence named Smith’s Horses the 17th greatest album of all time. Her celebratory tour kicks off on November 10th in Seattle and also visits Oakland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Boston, Washington, DC, and Philadelphia. Get tickets here.
