FRIDAY RECAP: Mils rally to edge Terriers in Highway 10 clash

REGINA, SK – The Melville Millionaires scored five unanswered and got 30 stops from Noah Sinagowitz en route to a 5-4 win over their Highway 10 rival, the Yorkton Terriers, Saturday.

Both teams’ top defenceman – Boston Harkness for the Mils and Thomas Ries for the Terriers – picked up three-assist nights, while Rylan Oatman’s finish at the 17:50 mark of the second period held up as the winner.

Melville now leads the season series in the fierce rivalry 2-1.

Elsewhere in North Battlefords, the Humboldt Broncos got the early lead but could not hold off the North Stars as the hosts got the winner from newcomer Owen Nelson mid-way through the third period to take down their Nutrien Division rivals 4-3.

Broncos forward Jacob Strizzi was able to extend his league-high point streak to 19 games with a pair of assists on the night.

Flin Flon and Melfort combined for 115 penalty minutes and 11 goals, six of which on the power play, but it was the Bombers who owned the night with an 8-3 triumph.

Second-year man Leo Seitz broke a 16-game goalless drought with his first career SJHL hat trick.

Jack Martin also added a two-goal night for Flin Flon.

Finally, in Estevan, Ewan Rennie led the way with two goals and an assist, and the Bruins cruised past the La Ronge Ice Wolves 7-3.

Four different Bruins recorded multi-point nights, including Nathaniel Harvey, who now has goals in three straight contests.
