Emmerdale terror as April finally tells Marlon the truth – and Celia arrives for revenge

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale‘s April Windsor finally shares her dark secrets with her dad Marlon Dingle and stepmum Rhona Goskirk next week – before Celia Daniels turns up at their family home, hellbent on revenge. The drama plays out as Marlon intercepts April when she prepares to complete another job for Ray Walters.

Seeing no choice but to follow Ray’s orders, April packs her bags and heads for the bus stop. However, Marlon has other ideas…

Next week’s episodes see Ray pile pressure on April again, insisting that she needs to carry out another illegal task for him. Still under Ray’s thumb, April agrees and prepares to leave the village.

Meanwhile, when Marlon asks birthday boy Dylan Penders why he hasn’t turned up to his own party, the troubled teenager subtly urges Marlon to convince April to speak to the police.

Filled with dread, Marlon rushes off and tracks down April, pleading with her to reveal what trouble she’s in.

April sticks to the story that nothing is wrong, but she ultimately reaches breaking point and confesses that she’s been selling illegal substances.

Back at home, Marlon and Rhona are determined to free April from her torment. Together, the couple convince her to forget about Ray’s demands and stay with them, before Marlon gathers himself to visit the police station.

April desperately tries to put her dad off filing a report. With no other option left, April drops the bombshell that she killed Callum – still unaware that he’s alive and well.

Rhona and Marlon are beside themselves, but their misery is only just beginning – as Celia learns that April has spilt her secrets…

“Most of Celia’s mules are young people,” explains Jaye Griffiths, who plays Celia. “So this is not a new problem – it’s about dealing with the fallout if they reveal the truth.

“Celia has many a contingency plan. This is the thing you deal with if you run a drugs operation – using kids who are intrinsically unreliable. This is not the first time.”

Marlon, Rhona and April are horrified to open the door to find Celia staring back at them. The vile criminal makes out that she wants to discuss something with the trio, then answers a video call from Ray and props up the phone for all to see.

As Marlon and Rhona get to grips with their living nightmare, will they fight back against Celia and Ray? Or will they bow down to keep their young family safe?

“April telling Marlon and Rhona everything means that Celia will have to explain to them in no uncertain terms what their new reality is,” Jaye adds.

“April will have brought this upon her own family – Celia warned her what would happen. Celia doesn’t make threats, empty or otherwise, she just states realities and consequences. And the consequence of this is, ‘Now I own your family.’ They should very, very much be scared.”

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
