Jase Richardson breaks out for Orlando Magic in best game as a pro

For the first time in his NBA career, Jase Richardson was finally given some real rotation minutes in a game, and it paid off in a big way for the former Michigan State standout. On Sunday, Richardson played for 21 minutes in the Orlando Magic’s game against the Boston Celtics, and he was able to score 18 points to go along with five rebounds and two assists on the night.
In a game the Magic lost by nine points, Richardson had a plus-minus of plus-eight on the night, the second-highest plus-minus on the team.
This was easily the biggest role Richardson has been able to play in a real NBA game since he was drafted by the Magic, and his performance definitely has put the league on notice. A quick scan on social media tells me that Magic fans are already calling for him to be a permanent part of the rotation. Considering that the Magic started a struggling Anthony Black at point guard tonight, there might be a role for Richardson to even start at times this year when Jalen Suggs sits for injury management.
