An AccuWeather Alert was issued for Wednesday as a cold front is set to bring winds up to 50 mph.
A Wind Advisory is in effect from 3 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
Windchills will be in the teens and 20s throughout Wednesday.
Thanksgiving Thursday
ABC7 meteorologists Greg Dutra and Tracy Butler said Thanksgiving Day is looking dry but blustery with highs in the 30s.
The cold will stick around for Black Friday for partly cloudy skies; flurries are possible in Northwest Indiana.
Snow Forecast
Late Friday into Sunday morning is when all eyes turn to the snow forecast.
The latest European weather model shows anywhere from 6 to 10 inches of snow Saturday into Sunday, Dutra said.
However, the GFS weather model puts the Chicago area closer to 4 inches.
Dutra said the storm system arrives to the west coast on Thursday, and that’s when we’ll get a much better handle on local totals.
Butler said the snow begins to make its way into the Chicago area around 4 a.m. on Saturday morning.
The snowstorm is expected to make for a snowy Saturday until it clears out by late Sunday morning.
A Winter Weather Advisory was issued for Berrien County, Michigan from Wednesday 9 a.m. to Friday at 7 a.m.
