Barnaby Joyce is poised to quit the Nationals today, for the crossbench before Pauline Hanson’s One Nation

Barnaby Joyce is scheduled to announce his departure from the Nationals on Thursday, but is expected to shift to the crossbench as an independent rather than defect immediately to One Nation.

Joyce, who said on Tuesday he would announce his decision at the end of this week, was scheduled to make a short statement to parliament before question time.
