Florida basketball’s Alex Condon held out for ‘precautionary’ reasons vs Providence

Swampcast discusses Florida football awaiting Lane Kiffin decision before hosting rival FSU
The Sun’s Kevin Brockway and Andrew Abadie predict whether Lane Kiffin will become Florida football’s next coach, and break down the UF=FSU season finale with Liam Rooney of the Tallahassee Democrat.
Florida basketball will be without Alex Condon in the Gators’ matchup against Providence on Friday, Nov. 28.
According to a team spokesman, Condon took a hit to the chin in the Gators’ 84-80 loss a day earlier and was held out for precautionary reasons. The hit came during a layup by Reuben Chinyelu, who made the contact against Condon.
The Australian still finished the game and recorded eight points, eight rebounds and eight assists.
The 6-foot-11 junior forward has started in every game this season as he has averaged 15.7 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.
This will be the first time this season that Florida (4-2) will change its starting lineup.
Center Micah Handlogten, who missed the Merrimack game for a similar reason, will start in Condon’s place. Handlogten, who has averaged 6.4 points and 7.7 rebounds this season, is making his first start since the 2024 SEC championship game.
