Perth Lotto player wastes no time snapping up $2m windfall

A Lotto player from Perth’s southern suburbs is revelling in a multi-million dollar windfall after setting off Millionaire Medley’s doubled jackpot.

The fortunate Sandgroper was the only punter to claim Wednesday evening’s division one prize, which was doubled from $1 million to $2m for Lotterywest’s Black Friday promotion.

Lotterywest revealed the winning ticket was sold at The Lucky Charm Bull Creek.

The confirmed multi-millionaire wasted no time collecting their newfound riches, rocking up to Lotterywest HQ first thing Thursday morning.

The Lucky Charm Bull Creek owner Onna Lawton said she had already decked out the kiosk to celebrate the store’s first jackpot win since she has been at the helm.

“It’s so exciting and I’m very happy, we’ve already put balloons and signs up all over the store to celebrate,” she said.

“It’s amazing to know that someone has won a $2 million prize thanks to a ticket sold here, hopefully this is the first of many.

“We’ve had the store since 2019, and this is our first division one winning ticket so it’s been a long time coming.”

Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said October and November had been stellar months for WA Lotto players.

“October and November delivered a total of 18 division one prizes – including five Millionaire Medley wins,” she said.

“We’re already off to a great start for December, a Lotto win at this time of year is bound to make for an extra special festive season.”

Wednesday’s double delight comes just days after a ticket sold in Palmyra secured a tidy $791,600 in the $6m draw at the weekend.

Hopeful punters can have a go at striking lucky in Thursday’s $5m Powerball draw by purchasing tickets online or in-store until 6pm.
