Nut Recall in 10 States As FDA Issues Warning

Two varieties of unsalted mixed nuts, sold in 10 U.S. states, have been recalled by Mellace Family Brands California, Inc. due to potential Salmonella contamination, according to an FDA announcement that was published on December 5.

What To Know

Mellace issued a recall for two types of ‘Wegmans Deluxe Mixed Nuts Unsalted’ sold at Wegmans stores, between November 3 and December 1, 2025, over concerns of potential Salmonella contamination.

The potential contamination was discovered after routine supplier testing revealed that a lot of raw pistachios used in the mixed nut products tested positive for Salmonella. The company confirmed these pistachios were used in the affected batches, prompting the nationwide recall.

Salmonella can cause severe and sometimes fatal illness in young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.

The recall includes the following two products:

  • Wegmans Deluxe Mixed Nuts Unsalted, 34 oz tub (UPC: 077890421314, Lot code: 58041, Best by: July 28, 2026)
  • Wegmans Deluxe Mixed Nuts Unsalted, 11.5 oz bag (UPC: 077890421352, Lot code: 58171, Best by: August 10, 2026)

According to the FDA notice, these products were sold between November 3 and December 1, 2025, at Wegmans stores in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

Consumers can find the lot codes and best-by dates above the nutrition label on the tubs and on the back of the bags below the nutrition label.

No illnesses have been reported as of December 5, but customers who purchased the recalled nuts are advised to return them to the Wegmans service desk for a full refund.
