‘You were warned’: Mum shocks with brutal Elf on the Shelf setup that people say is going to traumatise her daughter
When it comes to Elf on the Shel some parents are far more creative than others, setting up elaborate situations for their children to wake up every morning in December.
But one mum has left people horrified after sharing her brutal set-up, targeted at her eight-year-old daughter’s bad behaviour.
Kristina decided to use Hollie’s elves to her advantage with a warning about what would happen if she continued to be naughty.

She placed the two elves in front of a whiteboard, with a warning that has left some parents absolutely stunned and shared the post on TikTok.
“Hollie, you have been quite naughty and Santa is very disappointed,” the message started.
“You were warned about the consequences.”
Well, it looks like those “consequences” are severe because the elves were also standing behind what appeared to be a deer leg – which belonged to one of Santa’s reindeer.

“Here is Vixen’s leg,” the note on the little whiteboard continued.
“Every time you are naughty, we cut up a reindeer. Please be good, or we will have no-one to pull the sleigh on Christmas Eve.”
Kristina shared the post on TikTok and captioned it, “Be a turd and pay the price. probably going to ruin my child’s life but… I call it character building.”
The picture has been liked close to 80,000 times and received over 1,300 comments, although people are very divided on it.

“1000% when this child is 25, she will bring this up in therapy,” one person commented.
Another wrote, “That’s awful and not in the Christmas spirit at all, I would never ever do that to my child.”

One woman commented, “that poor child is probs traumatised for life now.”
Other people in the comments didn’t think there was any reason to go “that dark” with the stunt and plenty said it was too “extreme”.
But then there were people who did see the humour in it.
One person commented, “This is the type of parenting I am to achieve.”
“I’m sorry but I can’t stop laughing 😂 I just know my oldest would have died of laughter with this one 😂 we’re a dark humour kinda family,” replied one mum.
And for those who are worried that the little stunt may have traumatised Hollie for life, she’s doing fine.
In response to one comment, Kristina replied: “She laughed and fed the leg to the dog. She wasn’t THAT bothered.”
