Epic Games kicks off the festive season with a blockbuster free game giveaway.

In a bid to outdo Steam and attract new customers, Epic Games gives away free games on its PC store each week.
While the free game giveaways are often for smaller, lesser-known titles, Epic typically kicks things up a notch during the festive period, giving away huge blockbusters throughout December.
To coincide with The Game Awards and the start of the Epic Games Holiday Sale, the PC platform holder is giving away arguably its biggest game yet, as Hogwarts Legacy joins the line-up.
As part of the promotion, fans can download and keep the Harry Potter spinoff, no strings attached! Here’s how.

How to download Hogwarts Legacy for free
To nab your free copy of Hogwarts Legacy, simply visit the Epic Games Store and either login or create an account.
After signing in, visit the Hogwarts Legacy store page and click the ‘GET’ button on the right hand side of the page to add it to your library.
Once it’s in your library, you can download and play it whenever you like. This is the PC version of the game, so you’ll need a reasonably decent PC or handheld to play it.
How long is the offer available?
Hogwarts Legacy is free from now until 4pm GMT UK time on December 18.
