B&M recalls Christmas product ‘immediately’ over ‘burn risk’

The bargain chain has been forced to recall the Christmas good from shelves

B&M has pulled a popular Christmas product from shelves after a potential burn risk was identified.

The chain, which has more than 750 stores in the UK, is recalling its Cream and Green Mug due to a “potential risk of the base breaking.”

Officials at the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) also published a statement on the recall, saying the item “presents a risk of burns as the base may crack and break when filled with hot liquid.”

The notice added: “The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.”

A product code for the mug is 42491, with the product described as a “cream mug with green fir tree print.” B&M’s affected goods were place on sale in stores around the UK from August 23 until November 14.

The OPSS said owners were advised to “stop using the product immediately,” and return the item to a B&M store for a refund.

B&M reiterating the alert, with the chain asking anyone with questions regarding the recall to contact its customer service line on 0330 838 9000.

B&M’s most recent recall comes months after the chain was forced to pull another drinking vessel from shelves due to a potential risk of a base breaking.

Its Harvest Print Glass Mug was flagged in a recall notice in September, with a statement highlighting the move as a “precautionary measure.”

The announcement read: “As a precautionary measure we are recalling the Harvest Print Glass Mug due to the potential risk of the base breaking when filled with hot water.

“Any customer who has purchased the product is advised to retain the packaging and return the product to a B&M store where you will receive a full refund.”

B&M added: “Please note the product went on sale in stores 21/07/25.”

It went on: “If you have any questions, please contact Customer Services 0330 838 9000. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
