‘Danger to life’ warning as amber weather alert for rain in place | ITV News

The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for heavy rain across south and southwest Wales, describing conditions that pose a “danger to life” as flooding is likely.

Yellow warnings for wind and rain are in place for north Wales from 6pm today (Sunday 14 December) until 3pm on Monday.

This additional amber weather warning for rain is in place from 3am tomorrow (Monday 15 December) for 18-hours, across south and south-west Wales.

It is expected to cause flooding and travel disruption, with 50-80mm of rain likely to fall, and some places seeing close to 100mm.

Due to recent wet weather and already saturated ground, the likelihood of impacts is higher.

The amber warning covers Bridgend, Carmarthenshire, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Swansea.
