Derby County will bank at least £100,000 from their FA Cup third-round tie with Leeds United after it was selected for TV coverage.

The Rams will receive £80,000 for the game being screened live by TNT Sports and Discovery+, and are also guaranteed a further £26,500 should they lose, as part of the prize pot.

But if they win, they will pocket more than £121,000 for making it through to round four of the world’s biggest cup competition.

Derby’s game against Daniel Farke’s side at Pride Park will be played on Sunday, January 11 with a kick-off of 12pm.

Derby faced Leeds last season, during which the Whites achieved the double over then-manager Paul Warne’s team, securing 2-0 and 1-0 wins on their way to promotion to the top tier of English football.

But Leeds fans are reacting cautiously to the draw, given it comes in a week when they face games against Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle.

Some fans are expecting Leeds not to field their strongest team, with their objective this season to secure Premier League survival.

And what is an interesting sub-plot is that Derby head coach John Eustace also has an excellent record against Farke, having won three, drawn one and lost one of five games he has managed against the German.
