Kim Tate sacked Lydia Dingle during Friday’s episode of Emmerdae
An Emmerdale favourite has been left jobless days before Christmas.
Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) was left gobsmacked in recent scenes of the ITV soap opera after her boss Kim Tate (Claire King) announced she’s leaving her Home Farm in her will.
Kim and her horse Ice suffered a nasty accident last week while Kim was out investigating reports of illegal shooting taking place on her land.
As Kim recovers from her injuries there was worse news for poor Ice with professionals revealing his injury was terminal and Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) felt he has no option but to have him euthanised. Kim was heartbroken by this news and blamed Joe, lashing out at him furiously for taking the decision without talking to her.
Lydia felt incredibly guilty, knowing that it was her husband Sam Dingle (James Hooton) who organised the illegal shoot to try to raise some cash for the Dingles.

She helped him by keeping Kim distracted, partly because she was angry with Kim at the time but she didn’t know was that Kim was planning a surprise appearance by Lydia’s idol Jason Donovan especially for her.
Lydia’s guilt was compounded when Kim named her as a major beneficiary in her will and she came clean about her and Sam’s money-making scheme which resulted in Ice’s death during Friday’s (December 19) episode, which is now available to stream on ITVX.
Kim told the pair: “You betrayed me. Your employment here is over now get out of my sight.” As Sam walked off, Kim said to Lydia: “I may have expected it from him but I thought you were my friend.”
A sheepish Lydia replied: “I’m so sorry” Kim hit back: “Sorry? just words, more lies. After everything I’ve done for you. If you only needed something you only had to ask, I thought you knew that.”

Lydia replied: “I don’t have any excuses” as Kim reminded her: “You know what this place means to me. I thought you understood. Everything I’ve ever worked for, everything I’ve loved and I was ready to give it all to you.”
A worried Lydia asked: “Just tell me what I need to do to make things up to you.” Kim told her: “Nothing you can do can make things like they were. I have made this mistake before and I’m never going to trust anyone again after this. You’re sacked. I never want to see you up here again.”
An emotional Lydia insisted: “You’re right it’s just words but you’ll never know how sorry I am. How much I wish this had never happened.” As Lydia turned to walk away, Kim said: “Oh Lydia, I really wanted to believe you were different from the rest.”
Both women were left in tears following their showdown but is it really the end of their unlikely friendship?
