Duet Night Abyss tier list – best characters for launch

Looking for a Duet Night Abyss tier list for launch? In what could well be a first for the gacha game community, Duet Night Abyss lets you unlock every character for free. And we don’t mean through one-time trials or limited-time deals, either. So, with dumb luck and finite currencies out of the equation, knowing the best Duet Night Abyss characters at launch is more important than ever.
Duet Night Abyss is a 3D action-adventure RPG that doesn’t lock its playable characters behind a gacha gate. Just getting started? Grab free goodies with Duet Night Abyss codes. Duet Night Abyss tier list – best characters for launch
Here are the best characters in Duet Night Abyss at launch:
Tier
Character
S
Psyche, Fina, Truffle and Filbert
A
Daphne, Rebecca, Lynn, Randy, Tabethe, Yale and Oliver
B
Outsider, Berenica, Fushu, Hellfire, Lisbell, Phantasio, Rhythm, Randy
C
Lady Nifle, Margie, Sibylle
The DNA tier list above doesn’t include characters without solid release dates; namely Hilda, Zhiliu, Kezhou, Yuming, and Fushu. Given the grand gameplay reworks seen since the last playable build, we’ve also removed a traditional F-tier to avoid suggesting that any one character is worth avoiding entirely until we have proper evidence to support the argument.
So, who is still likely to remain the cream of the crop? We suspect Truffle and Filbert will maintain their high position from the last play test. As a support character who’s quick and easy to obtain and upgrade, it’s hard to imagine this tight duo offering anything but top-tier boons and buffs in the heat of battle. Whether you’re farming groups or taking on powerful bosses, Truffle and Filbert will find a way into your team.
Similarly, Fina, who’s set to replace Psyche, our top-tier attacker, as a Covert Commissions reward a few weeks after launch, is expected to perform exceptionally well. Fitting into the Lumino element, she’s a versatile debuff-style Support character with strong damage potential.
How do you unlock characters in Duet Night Abyss?
Though every Duet Night Abyss character can be unlocked for free, you have to earn 30 of a character’s ‘thoughts’ to add them to your roster. Most characters can be unlocked by completing specific quests or taking part in certain modes, with additional ‘thoughts’ then being available through shop purchases and other means.
How to get Psyche in Duet Night Abyss
According to the pre-launch page, you can unlock Psyche for free through the Covert Commissions system. She’s already available to purchase in the shop. One of her outfits, Secret Letter: Psyche, can be unlocked by achieving star ratings in the Immersive Theatre until November 25. She isn’t a limited-time character, either, so you’ll be able to unlock Psyche on any Duet Night Abyss account going foward. Similarly, Secret Letter: Psyche will become a weekly challenge reward of the Nocturnal Echoes mode after November 25.
How to get Fina in Duet Night Abyss
Fina can be unlocked in Duet Night Abyss through the Covert Commissions feature or bought from the store. Secret Letter: Fina, an outfit for the character, can be unlocked through the Immersive Theatre after November 25. Fina isn’t time-limited, so you’ll be able to unlock her at any time.
How to get Lisbell in Duet Night Abyss
To unlock Lisbell for free in Duet Night Abyss, you just need to complete chapter Noctoyager [On a Gentle Breeze].
How to get Truffle and Filbert
Unlocking Truffle and Filbert, one of the best supports in Duet Night Abyss, requires completing the Go, Geniemons! and Tutorial: Covert Commissions quests. This can be done at any time.
When will new Duet Night Abyss characters be released?
With Fina only becoming available on November 25, she’s technically the first post-launch Duet Night Abyss character to look forward to. After that, we’ve been promised Kezhou, Fushu, Yuming, and Zhiliu for patch 1.1. No date has been set for this. Hilda is the only known character set to release after 1.1 so far.
