Telus ‘Buy One, Give One’ promotion returns for this Black Friday

Telus is once again running its ‘Buy One, Give One’ campaign, offering to give free phones to Canadian youths in need for every phone purchased during Black Friday.
From November 28 to 30, Telus says that for every purchase of a new or certified pre-owned phone, it will give a free phone and plan to a Canadian youth transitioning out of foster care. Telus will use its Mobility for Good program, which already offers free or discounted phones and wireless services to people in need. Specifically, the carrier says it will give phones to “youth aging out of government care, government assisted refugees and Indigenous women at risk of or surviving violence.”
Since the program’s launch in 2017, Telus says it has supported over 69,000 people.
Per the fine print on Telus’ website, customers will need to purchase an eligible device on a postpaid activation and with a two-year Telus Easy Payment financing plan to qualify for the Buy One, Give One campaign.
Further, Telus says it will give up to a maximum of 5,000 phones for the promotion. In 2024, the company pledged to give up to 7,000 phones, and in 2023, it pledged 5,500.
If you’re planning to shop for a new phone at Telus on Black Friday, you’ll want to wait until the 28th to ensure your purchase also helps someone in need. You can take a peek at Telus’ early Black Friday offers to get an idea of what to buy, though hopefully the carrier will have more deals on the 28th. Telus also just launched a truly unlimited plan (with a catch) — read all about it to see if it’s a good fit for you.
