Weather in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on Wednesday

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts a variable outlook for Wednesday, 29 October, in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, characterised by intervals of high and low clouds, a moderate north-west wind, and the possibility of light rain in the mountainous areas.
The agency does not rule out very strong gusts during the early hours in the central peaks of Tenerife, where winds could exceed 90 km/h before gradually subsiding throughout the day. Temperatures will remain largely unchanged along the coast, with slight drops in inland areas.
Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro: Strong Winds and Isolated Rain
In Tenerife, skies will be partially covered, with a possibility of light rain in the north and inland areas of the east and south during the afternoon. Temperatures will remain mild, ranging between 21 and 27 °C in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, while the wind will be moderate from the west, shifting to north-west with strong intervals by the end of the day.
In La Palma, a predominance of cloudy skies in the west is expected, alongside light and occasional rain both on the northern and eastern slopes in the afternoon. Winds will be moderate from the west, shifting to north, with strong intervals in elevated areas. Temperatures will range from 20 to 25 °C in Santa Cruz de La Palma.
La Gomera will start the day with intervals of high and low clouds, with a chance of light precipitation on the northern and western slopes. Winds will be moderate from the west, shifting to the north in the afternoon, with maximum temperatures of 26 °C in San Sebastián de La Gomera.
On El Hierro, cloudy skies in the north are anticipated, along with some light rain. The wind will be moderate from the north-west, with temperatures between 17 and 21 °C in Valverde.
Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura: High Clouds and Stable Conditions
Aemet predicts a calmer day in the province of Las Palmas, although there will be a predominance of high and low clouds and stable temperatures.
In Gran Canaria, cloudy intervals are expected, with a possibility of light rain on the western slopes and inland areas during the afternoon. Winds will be light and variable, tending towards north-west, with maximum temperatures of 26 °C in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will experience high clouds and light conditions, with a low probability of rain. Winds will be light from the west, shifting to north-west in the evening, with temperatures ranging between 21 and 27 °C in Arrecife and 21 and 26 °C in Puerto del Rosario.
Ocean Swell and Autumn Stability
Throughout the archipelago, northern or north-western ocean swell will maintain waves between 1 and 2 metres, accompanied by slight or moderate swells depending on the area. The maritime wind will be from the west or north-west at force 3 to 5, ensuring safe conditions for coastal navigation.
Aemet advises caution in the high areas of Tenerife and La Palma due to strong gusts of wind and highlights the importance of following up-to-date weather updates in light of potential changes in conditions.
