He lost 120 kilos and is now making his UFC debut: I want to make my father proud and provide my daughter with a better life

The UFC’s latest event is scheduled for tonight in Las Vegas, where ‘UFC On ESPN 73’ will be held at the Apex, and it will be special for one thing.

On the night from Saturday to Sunday, according to our local time, Steven Asplund, a man who has an extraordinary physical transformation, will debut in the strongest MMA organization in the world.

The 27-year-old American weighed over 235 kilograms five years ago, and then fell in love with MMA, which led to a turning point in his life.

Asplund dedicated himself to training and made a remarkable transformation, and after six professional fights in which he recorded five wins and one loss, the opportunity came to fight in Dana White’s Contender Series – the final step before entering the UFC for many fighters.

In September, Asplund defeated his opponent in a match that meant a ticket to the UFC, and tonight he will debut in the strongest promotion with a match against Sean Sharaf.

“The hate itself is terrible. I was a victim of bullying. I told myself that this had to change,” Asplund explained the big change in his life.

Today, Asplund weighs 118 kilograms and has lost approximately 120 kilograms, and the “consequences” of the significant weight loss are visible on his body.

“I will continue until my ‘rings’ fall off. My will is not like anyone else’s. My character is made of steel,” added Asplund, who says his family is the main guide in his life and that he wants to make his father proud and provide his daughter with a better life.

Otherwise, today’s UFC event will be in the spotlight due to the fights between Brandon Royval and Manel Kape in the 57 kg category, and the co-main fight of the evening between Gigi Chikadze and Kevin Vallejos. /Telegraph/
